If the history of black magic and the occult reveals anything at all, it reveals that the drive to marshal the unseen powers of the dark and bend them to a mortal will is as old as mankind itself

If the history of black magic and the occult reveals anything at all, it reveals that the drive to marshal the unseen powers of the dark and bend them to a mortal will is as old as mankind itself. Men and women have believed, in virtually every age and in every land, that there is another world-this one invisible, eternal, and essentially t with the one we inhabit every day.

Masello has taken these forbidden subjects out of the dark cornors of our collective minds and revealed them as manifestations of our very human nature to seek and bring a measure of understanding and control to our enviroment. The book reveals that the desire to master and control the unseen powers of the universe is as old as mankind itself and has contnued in some manner in an unbroken line up to today.

I found this very interesting and also informative. Most interesting is what has been accidentally discovered/invented by people trying to make black art "potions" of different sorts. Also, that people trying to be fairly secretive left such an easy trail to follow of their doings!
