I ordered the 2 other books relating to Venice and Paris but was hesitant to order this book, since it is described as "Paperback" while the other 2 are described as "Hardcover". A book of this size and weight in paperback was a bit scary, since I doubt it would stay in one piece for too long. Nevertheless, I ordered it when its price dropped and I was pleasantly surprised to find that it is in fact a hardcover, exactly the same as the other 2 books on Venice and Paris. Just like the other 2 books, the reproductions are of excellent quality and many of them I have seen for the first time. The writing is informative and a pleasant read, but it is definitely the reproductions that most people who buy this type of a book are interested in, and they do not disappoint. Peronally, I can not see how this book will ever be re-issued in the same format at this price, especially when one considers the beautiful silkbound protection slipcase and the overall quality of the product. I highly recommend this book and for anyone who already has "History of Venice in Painting" and "History of Paris in Painting", this book will complete the set.
