The Visconti-Sforza Tarot Cards Hardcover – April 1, 1986. by Michael Dummett (Author). Don't pay more than eight bucks for this book-it is just not worth it. That said, it makes a nice (inexpensive) addition to a serious collection.
The Visconti-Sforza Tarot Cards Paperback – April 1, 1986. The book begins with a 15 pages introduction to tarot, which I enjoyed a lot - it is informative, readable, and I learnt from it. As the book is out of print, I could find only a black & white photocopy of the book from which I cant say anything about the quality of the cards' reproductions.
The Visconti-Sforza tarot is used collectively to refer to incomplete sets of approximately 15 decks from the middle of the 15th century, now located in various museums, libraries, and private collections around the world. No complete deck has survived; rather, some collections boast a few face cards, while some consist of a single card. They are the oldest surviving tarot cards and date back to a period when tarot was still called Trionfi ("triumphs" .

Michael Dummett (2007) has pointed out that the Visconti-Sforza deck was copied, in particular the six cards which he attributes to Benedetto Bembo, younger brother of Bonifacio, by other artists. The right-hand card is one of the four Guildhall Library Tarocchi Cards from the Worshipful Company of Makers of Playing Cards collection of historic playing cards (and is the only one without a pin hole).
