Among the varied volumes and recordings published during 1998 to jointly commemorate the 150th Anniversary of the birth and the 80th Anniversary of the death of Hubert Parry this remarkable series of essays by the American born composer Bernard Benoliel, who now lives in the UK and is the Administrator of the Ralph Vaughan Williams Trust. Benoliel has now produced CDs of Parry's music and there is little doubt that it has been his championship of such works as the Ode on the Nativity and the Fourth Symphony has helped consolidate the tremendous activity around Parry and his music during the past year.
