Singer and songwriter Ralph McTell is best known for streets of London, the song he recorded in 1969 that became a number to hit five years later. It has gathered many accolades since then-yet, despite the efforts of the big issue and others, the song's message on society's attitude to the homeless is as relevant as ever in the 1990s. The six-year mission Chris Hockenhull, one of Ralph's most knowledgeable followers, set himself was to prove there's much more to the man that one song, however celebrated.
