In Lee Blessing's "Chesapeake," Mark Linn-Baker plays a man named Kerr

In Lee Blessing's "Chesapeake," Mark Linn-Baker plays a man named Kerr. In Lee Blessing’s Chesapeake, Mark Linn-Baker plays a man named Kerr. I ordered this because the opportunity arose to direct it for a festival, but I was not really moved by the piece. It's not a terrible play, I just had no interest in working on it.

This is an incredible little play and is well worth the 45 minutes it will take you to read it. I don't want to reveal too much about the multi-dimensional twist that takes place at the top of the second act, so I'll take a cue from the reviewer on the jacket and say just these three words:

Art, Politics, Dogs.

Chesapeake is a fantastic play for one actor, would be a priceless source for monologues, and is an enthralling, moving and bizarre read.

Pick it up, you won't regret it.
