This book gives a very succinct view of the scope of world drama. Divided into 7 stages, it gives a clear idea of how theatre advanced through history. I wish more modern texts (often fancy and very expensive) were as easy to understand. 2 people found this helpful.

Sir Richard William Southern FBA (8 February 1912 in Newcastle-upon-Tyne – 6 February 2001 in Oxford), who published under the name R. W. Southern, was a noted English medieval historian, based at the University of Oxford.
