Fun to read. Nice short chapters - good for us people who don't read that much and don't want to sit for long periods of time reading. Grodin's sense of humor is great, and it is entertaining to hear his voice in my head as I read - it covers up all those other voices I'm always hearing :) The book came out in 1990, and it sounded good then. So, I finally picked up a copy in about 2016. It is nice you can find stuff like this that you heard about, but never got way back when it was new. I'm sure I could learn from it by reading more, as well as being entertained and learning about Grodin's career, which is also of interest to me. The title says a lot, and I think it encourages people to not let others stop them, because people will try to stop you from achieving your goals and being successful.

I enjoyed this book, if only for the humor and perserverance shown by Mr. Grodin.
I think it should be on the syllabus of every entry level acting class.
My brother is contemplating going to film school, and I've already sent him his own copy.

if you like Charles Grodin then you'll love this book. Light and fun. He takes us through the adventures of his Hollywood acting career in his dry sarcastic way.

Charles Grodin is one of those rare performers that is as brilliant on the printed page as he is on camera. Mr. Grodin's book is filled with funny, engaging (and sometimes frustrating) stories of his early days breaking into show biz. I particularly enjoyed the personal stories of his friendship with Ted Knight and his early work as a "set-up" man on Candid Camera. In the entertainment industry, it's so important to learn the ropes from those who have been there and are willing to share their real world triumphs and challenges. Charles Grodin has great lessons and insights that would benefit experienced actors, as well as newcomers.

Really, this book should be on every aspiring actors bookself. Seriously, this really is a must read.
This is the fourth book by Charles Grodin that I have read. They all are different and to me they all merit five stars. But this one, because of its many insights into the world of Hollywood, is my favorite.
