The reason for purchasing this book is the same as volume II of the same title. I chose it because it will give me winning proposals to study so that I can see what the grant reviewers are looking for in a proposal. I will mainly use it to compare my proposals to the ones in the same category in the book. I think it will provide guidance and reassurance that I am on the right track.

I would recommend this book to anyone writing grants.
