I bought this for my 8 year old daughter because she loves making things. There are a lot of ideas for practical, useful things that she can make. She plans to use the ideas in the book to make Christmas gifts for her friends and family.

Much to my surprise, many of the crafts requires the purchase of other products. I was under the impression with DIY crafts, one would use items already in the home.

Great book for crafts that girls will have fun doing. Easy to understand directions, photos of the finished project and diagrams at various steps make this a book that is easy to follow. Cute projects include:

There's plenty of fun things to do and picking a few for a girl's sleepover or slumber party would be loads of fun.

Ferri - My name

This book is great, especially the pictures which give me something to go by. The main reason i like this book is the pictures, graphics, and the easy to follow directions. It also gives tips and other ideas to get your creativity flowing. I would recommend it for pre-teens, teens, and kids who have help from parents. However the projects do require products that you probably won't just have laying around your house. But this is a fantastic book and has really cool ideas even if you do have to go out and buy some stuff. Some of the projects are snow globe, glow in the dark bracelets, decorated pads of paper, cards, exotic box, collages, soap, lip gloss, mosaic mirror, flowers, frames,rug, hair clips, bracelet, decorated pen, duck tape wallet, mathbox pop star shines, and more!! My favorite craft would have to be the post card beach bag.

Crafting is a great way to teach our daughters (and sons!) how to start something and finish it. The Crafty Diva books give guidelines for fantastic crafts that moms/step-moms can do with their daughters/sons. It also teaches girls to choose their own individual style, as opposed to looking like a cookie cutter. Directions are clear, and can easily be modified to add one's own sass.

Another A+ book by Ms. Murillo. I got this "crafty diva" book as a gift for my 8 yr old niece last weekend at the book signing and we had so much trouble choosing a project because all of them are just so fun and fruity. We settled on the glitter gloss and the picture bracelets that are made out of washers and bolo ties. So clever! It seems this book is for young girls but the projects can easily fit for grown ups too. I'm buying an extra copy for me, because I'm a girl at heart!

i bought this book with the other crafty diva book for my little sister, but now we fight over them because they have so many neat ideas in them. i loved these books so much i looked the author up online to find out she is the crafty chica! i love kathy and her web site and just discovered her podcast where you can hear her talk about all these craft projects. this book is so happy and upbeat and full of really cool project ideas and funny stories. i can hardly wait to go buy kathy's other books! and most of all, i'm proud that she is a latina like me!
