McTats lives in a cozy cottage with only her cat, Abner, until one day visitors begin arriving wanting to stay. McTats seems to find a few more cats to follow her home, and there is always room for one more. She names the cats alphabetically, from Abner to Yodel, and all seems peaceful until a small sound is heard at the door. McTats opens it to discover what it was she had felt was missing: a small puppy, which she names Zoom. While the somewhat clumsy, rhyming text sets the stage, it is the wonderfully painted cats that steal the show.

I wish i had found this book years ago. I bought this for my 7 y.o. who loves cats. She found the story to be adorable and she likes to read it over and over even though it is below her readinig level. I wish I had found this book anytime between when my daughter was 2-5. She would have been reading it for years. It is a very cute story and helps the kids with counting and the alphabet even though they may not realize it. I definitely recommend this book.

A really darling book! I love the illustrations and the story. I love how each kitty has a name. I gave this as a gift for my mother-in-law who is a kitty lover. One of the cats in the story has my mother-in-law's name. She loved receiving this book even though it is a children's book.
