The text consists of pairs of antonyms.
This is a simple pattern for students of English as a second language to follow.

On each page is a multiplicity of pictures representing the two antonyms. I am taking one point off because the pages appear cluttered.

I have many Peter Spier books as I decided to collect them. I love how they are illustrated ! If you open the inside cover you will see some pictures of opposites---BUT if you then flip to the back inside cover you will see the same pictures in a very different light. The dog has a monkey tail and the monkey has a dog tail, the baby is driving the delivery truck and the man is pulling the toy truck, the elephant has the pig snout and the pig has the elephant's trunk. I've read this book many times to my three grown children when they were young and NEVER noticed this. I read it yesterday to my youngest grandson and saw it for the first time. He cracked up over the pig's trunk. Peter Spier: Thanks for the memories.

I'm so disappointed that this book is now out of print! I used it with my three children and credit it with enhancing their vocabulary. Now I use my copy with my first and second grade remedial students. I've given it as a most welcome baby gift and had hoped to again. I can only hope its soon returned to print!
