Now even though upon commencing with Margaret Mahy's Bubble Trouble, I was indeed smiling and very much enjoying both the fantastically hilarious premise of a little baby stuck in a large bubble and floating away and the humorously engaging, songlike rhymes (although I have to say that occasionally, the cadence and rhythm of Mahy's featured verses do have the annoying tendency.

This is one of those amazing rhyming picture books that seem effortless but you know that it must have taken the author a while to get the prose perfect. Wow. I love reading this to my son. What a wonderful book for children of all ages!! We got this from the library and loves it so much that we ordered several copies off Amazon, to keep and to gift to others. My daughter is 2 and loved it but I can imagine children much older enjoying as well. It's a sweet story with great illustrations but what makes this so fabulous is the tongue-twisting, rhythmic, witty rhyming verses! So fun to read aloud - fun for everyone involved. Highly recommend!

Such a lovely book. Great cadence, fun for kids and parents. Bought it after checking it out at the library and loving it. I'd say the print on the board book is awfully small, but not so bad as to not be able to read it.

Very cute book. Pictures are catching and the rhyming is quite catchy and cute. Pretty sure several of my friends have the first page (or several) memorized just from reading it to their kids. I will say though about the rhyming, my husband is not a very fluid reader and it kinda irritates him to read it aloud to the kids. For me though, its wonderful, I love reading, and am capable of reading quite fast while maintaining articulation, so it's "my" book to read to the kids. Which is fine with me; it's a fun read to bounce around on your tongue. Both my 1 and a half year old and 3 and a half year old love it.

I enjoyed the book, but the target audience..two 3 yr olds...zoned out way before the end. I've tried this one a few times and couldn't get either of them to stay interested in it. They like Slinky Malinky a lot more. And Harry McClary. There are books adults like more than the children, in our case this is in that category. We read many many many books, they have access to an ever changing variety as well as their own libraries, including graphic novels so they don't stay for ones that aren't interesting to them.

This tongue twister was so exciting for a group of children I read the book to at a birthday party! They loved hearing about all of the places the baby bubbled too and how the helpers combined their efforts to save the little boy!

Everyone should own this book. It's fun to read aloud and my toddler has loved listening to the rhythm of this and looking at the pictures since he was a baby.
One of our favorite books. Rhymes are amazing and I can almost tell the story without reading it because we have read it so many times! Very fun and imaginative story.
