Excellent read although I cannot verify all of the content, it's still a fascinating story. I grew up in Pleasant Grove and actually knew Alden Barrett. There was some creepy stuff going on in that town, but I'm not convinced it was this dark. Alden was very intelligent and always nice to me, although very quiet much of the time. His suicide was tragic no matter what the causes. I do recommend this book, just read with a questioning mind and do your own research on it too.

It’s a very good book. I wish I had known the real Jay, I feel I could have been a friend to help keep him grounded to reality. I was disappointed to find out only a few were really from Jay, and some made up and some from other kids that the author spoke to before. Either way, I feel like I lost a friend. I can’t shake the feeling that I wish I could of helped him.

It is a good book, but in "Go Ask Alice" it is a little easier to follow what is happening. In Jay's Journal, there are some clearly drug-induced imaginings that he records as reality which make what actually happened harder to follow.

This book was very interesting. It is about a boy and his 3 friends and how they get sucked into the occult and black magic. It is Jay' s personal journal, found after his death. It tells how they get so involved with the Occult and how it takes over their lives. How an evil spirit wants to take over his . body. It shows how easily one can go from curiosity to total involvement and how impossible it can be to get out of it.

This was a sad and scary book. I believe that if you let demonology in your home you are going to have problems. The devil is waiting to hurt anyone, takes delight in fear. I think parents should read this if they are Christians that believe in a Heaven and a Hell.
