Meg Falconer peered anxiously around the corner of the barn. Aiden could never quite get used to the sight of his eleven-year-old sister in this terrible place. At fifteen, he was as old as most of the juvenile offenders banished to this prison camp. Falcon, eagle - like this was some kind of April Fools’ prank. The judge said he didn’t want the children suffering for their parents’ crimes. If this isn’t suffering, then what is?

The Falconers had no choice but to follow. Surely the officers would be here soon Uncle Frank. The man who had started in motion the series of events that destroyed the Falconer family. The only person who could save them

The Falconers had no choice but to follow. Surely the officers would be here soon. Or their colleagues would, answering a radio call to be on the lookout for three dazed and filthy kids. The only person who could save them. Miguel pulled the carton from the back of the closet and dumped out its contents.

The Falconers dropped the clothes and ran. The animal bounded after them, and Aiden realized with a sinking heart that there was no way they could escape. Two kids, exhausted and sleep deprived, didn’t stand a chance against a full-speed attack dog. As they scrambled around the laundry carousel, Meg reached up and yanked on a large white sheet. It was all the time Aiden and Meg needed.

The book came in good condition. The book is a good read and tells an exciting story. The writing isn't very technical and is exactly what you'd expect in a preteen action thriller.

My 10-year-old loves this series, and has hooked her 12-year-old sister in to it, too. I've read some of the books out loud to the kids and they are fun, fast, and clean. Great suspense of a very appropriate nature for young readers. I would recommend these books to anyone.
