Author of 2 non-fiction books & 8 novels, including the bestselling title, Monday to Friday Many  . This book also resonated with me on a personal level as one of my friends mums died of the same condition as in the book and my friend also had the agonising wait or going for testing to see if she had also inherited the condition. I don’t want to go into specifics and give spoilers away. The book was written with the outmost empathy and understanding I couldn’t put this book down and have read it over the last two evenings. Tracy's room is very messy! There is anything and everything you can think of laying on her floor, thrown on her bed, and coming out of her drawers.Tracy's mother finally says she wants her to clean her room and she won't ask twice! But where will Tracy put all of her toys and dolls? She tries under her bed, but that doesn't work. Maybe if she tries one more thing, it would work perfectly!

My mom found this for me at a Hospice store and I couldn't resist getting it! It's a lovely little gem and it makes me smile every time I read it.

The first two pages start:

"Tracy Petersen is, I bet,
the messiest girl I've ever met.
Six years old and four feet tall,
you'd never guess she was messy at all.
With every little curl in place
a gentle smile upon her face.

But here's a warning - take a broom
if you ever go inside her room."

And if that doesn't set up the whole story right there, I don't know what does!

The rhymes here are very seamless and flow 90% of the time easily from line to line.
The illustrations are just as delightful. They are very fun, vibrant, and a delight for kids who love to pour over detailed pictures.

Having been a "Tracy" in my youth (and, well, now too) I can totally appreciate the amusing variety of messes Tracy's has in her room, as well as her ways of dealing with them.
Which begs the question, will Tracy ever clean her room? Read to find out!

A wonderful book that will capture the imagination of messy children everywhere. This is an appealing story of an independent little girl whose messy habits cause problems with her Mother. Tracy's character comes alive through the author's delightful rhymes. The colorful illustrations engage young readers in the storey. This book is a greeat favorite of my own children. The only drawback is that they demand that it be read again and again. Your children will be delighted with Tracy's story.
