The Great Race of the birds and animals (1978). This creation myth tells the story of long ago, when buffaloes used to eat humans, or so they say. The hairs on the chins of the buffalo represented the people they ate until one day, the Creator changed that. The Creator saw that the people were in distress and decided to hold a race. The two-legged and four-legged creatures would race against each other. If the two-leggeds won, they would be able to eat the four-legged creatures, Myth Goble, Paul. I am generally not a fan of creation myths, and while this is not about creation, it's close.

I have bought numerous Paul Goble books and they are all breath-taking in the art work and the way he relates these stories. My grandson learned to read with his books. Love this one as it tells the importance each being has and working together to achieve your goal.
