Narrator: There are a gajillions of stories of mischief and fun. But to keep things simple, let's just start with one. About a mom and two kids and a house and a hat. That, oddly enough, was worn by a cat.
Narrator: There are a gajillions of stories of mischief and fun. But soon enough we will get to all that. In the valley that stretches from this hill to that hill, A city is nestled. That city is Anville. Alan: Hurry up! We'll miss the movie. Jim McFinnigan: Any more tutti-frutti? Alan: I'll check. Jim McFinnigan: Thanks!

In 1957, Seuss's The Cat in the Hat became the prototype for one of Random House's best- selling series, Beginner Books. Winner of the Pulitzer Prize in 1984 and three Academy Awards, Seuss was the author and illustrator of 44 children's books, some of which have been made into audiocassettes, animated television specials, and videos for children of all ages. Even after his death in 1991, Dr. Seuss continues to be the best-selling author of children's books in the world. CONS - Other narrators were not really exciting. I can actually do a much more articulated and attention catching job that will pin toddlers and kids to their chairs - Two CDs with zero track information on them.

In this collection were: The Cat in the Hat, narrated by Kelsey Grammer The narrator made . I found the voice for fish a little shrill, though.
In this collection were: The Cat in the Hat, narrated by Kelsey Grammer The narrator made good use of pauses and pacing. Horton Hears A Who, narrated by Dustin Hoffman The narrator's voices, for the most part, were fairly good. Yertle the Turtle And Other Stories, narrated by John Lithgow This narration had pretty good acting. I found the background music particularly appropriate. The message I took away was something along the lines of democracy, not tyranny, and to think of other people's needs.
Did I Ever Tell You How Lucky You Are? is a children's book written and illustrated by Theodor Geisel under the pen name Dr. Seuss and published by Random House on September 12, 1973. The text consists of a series of descriptive poems, fictively told to an unnamed auditor by a wise old man, in which the latter depicts a variety of ate characters, or situations wherein any character might be so, in comparison with whom the auditor might consider itself exceptionally fortunate.
There were positives and negatives from this audio of Horton Hears a Who. First I am a big fan of Dustin Hoffman (Midnight Cowboy) so I came in already with a mind set that was favorable
There were positives and negatives from this audio of Horton Hears a Who. First I am a big fan of Dustin Hoffman (Midnight Cowboy) so I came in already with a mind set that was favorable. While following the story I was glad that there was background sounds/music/noises that was accompanying Hoffman's voice. A bit long of a track at over 16 minutes for the story. Hoffman's voice was too over the place, too many different voices one sounded more like count Dracula than Horton.
Seven years, before The Cat in the Hat, Dr. Seuss wrote this classic. The first story is inspired by Adolf Hitler's tyranny and hunger for power. I think I found the inspiration for the voice actors'! I really like how Mr. Hoffman gave Horton a lisp and Ned a British accent. SPOILER: Morton the mouse is not in the book. The second, "Gertrude McFuzz," has a moral that is either, "Don't follow the crowd," or "Don't do drugs. The third story, "The Big Brag," is pretty self-explanatory. Thidwick the Big-Hearted Moose read by Mercedes McCambridge. Remember when I said Did I Ever Tell You How Lucky you Are? annoyed me?
