No more boring excuses. If anyone asks why you've been fighting, just blame it on your boxer shorts. These snappy, zany comebacks will crack you up and drive adults crazy. From school smarts and chore chuckles to behavior busters and food funnies, there are plenty of silly answers to silly questions. So whether you're really in a fix, or just want to get a laugh, these amusing alibis will definitely work. Why were you absent yesterday? I wasn't absent, I was temporarily invisible). Why didn't you take the garbage out? I had another date). Hundreds of wacky excuses to use.
In reality, these excuses would never float in the real world; however, for what this book is worth, it's a pretty insightful and enjoyable read. The book has 9 sections from school to home. Each section has black and white illustrations and at least 4 or 5 excuses for each question with several questions in each section. This book could be considered a bad idea giving kids the idea to make up excuses for questioning authority, but with guidance, this book is fun and an easy read.

The funniest book I’ve ever read (and reread a hundred times over) is Faking It by Jennifer Crusie. First, it’s a romance novel, so I know I’m going to get an ending that will have me giggling like a fangirl. Second, Cruise is a masterful storyteller who has the chops to write a multifaceted book that doesn’t come off as campy. The funniest book I’ve ever read would have to be This is Where I Leave You by Jonathan Tropper. Books don’t tend to make me laugh out loud, so I knew this was going to be good when I found myself audibly laughing in the first few chapters.
