Mini book is enclosed in the doll bo. This was a way to save a lot of money on this American girl doll. She is tiny but an exact replica of "Big Expensive Julie".

So I was delighted to find the same quality and perfection in this mini doll as in the larger version. My granddaughter loves it. The hair and body look just the way they did when I gave it to her approx 9 months ago. Her non-American Girl dolls have ruined hair, marred up skin and clothing that doesn't hold up to a 5 yo's play.

I purchased this as a Christmas present for my six year old daughter. She screamed with excitement when she opened it on Christmas morning! She loved playing with it and even read stories to her doll. Her older sister went straight for the little book that came with the doll. (She loves American Girls and loves to read). After she read the book, she even read it out loud to her younger sister. Now the doll sits on her bookshelf with her little book. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who loves American Girl! It is a very affordable option when the regular sized dolls are out of your price range. :)

My daughter is just getting into American Girl and couldn't decide between the four of her favorites so we chose to get all four miniaturized rather than going broke with the full size dolls. On Christmas morning with all the dolls set under the tree, she was beyond thrilled! They fit in her doll house which gives her some flexibility in playing with them. She is also able to take two or more with her when she goes to Grandma's for the night which wouldn't be possible with the 18" version.
As mentioned by others, these are small dolls (about 6") and there aren't the accessories available for these dolls that there are for larger dolls, but the doll house furniture does seem to work. Essentially, these are meant to be just a small representation of the characters from the book and don't have much versatility. The book that comes with it is TINY so my just-learning-to-read daughter can't really focus on the words very well but since she says they are the doll's books anyway, she doesn't even try to read them. We got her the regular sized book for one of the dolls and she now thinks it's great that she and the doll have the same book in appropriate sizes! So, buy this for the doll, not the book.
If you don't have the money or space to supply an American Girl fanatic with dolls from more than one book, these are a great option!

These dolls are darling and my granddaughter absolutely LOVES them - because they're affordable, she can have them all - the cost of doing this with the 18" dolls would be prohibitive and where would you store them all? Anyway, she has both the 18" and the mini of 'her' doll and now the minis of all the others - fabulous play! My only negative is that the eyes do not open and shut - which is why I gave it a 4, but that's certainly no reason not to get them. You can buy clothing for the mini dolls as well and I fully recommend getting the display case that stands 12 mini dolls.

Other reviewers have commented on the size of this item. I knew it was going to be small (approx. 6.5 inches) since I read the description carefully. It was just what I expected. Actually it was a bit cuter than I expected. I have not seen the other dolls this size, so I cannot comment on them. Ruthie is absolutely adorable! No, this isn't the expensive American Girl Dolls you can buy online or in their catalog. However, it is perfect for what I wanted it for. Note that the little hardcover book that it comes with is very cute, but just a sample of the full "Really Truly Ruthie" book. It is not a full size book.

Though I was aware of doll size (6.5") before ordering, she is much smaller than expected, i.e., skinnier compared to the proportion of the 18". Her skin is also darker than that of the 18". Her eyes do not close and the purple ribbon is sewn onto her head. Nonetheless, she is extremely well made, hence 3 stars.

I recieved American Girl Mini Doll, Ruthie in a fast and timley manner. When the doll arrived, the packaging was in excellent condition, sealed, and well protected! The product is American Girl Brand and it came new in the American Girl box! I appreciate the seller's honesty in providing the true product that was posted and described!! My little girl will be so surprised on Christmas morning!!

I bought this as a b-day present for my 8 year old daughter. She has this doll, along with her other American Girl Doll minis all lined up and loves them all. She combs their hair every few days and keeps their clothes all clean. If she's happy, then that makes me very happy.
I bought this for my daughter for her birthday, and it is so cute! Not to mention that it is also $8 less than it is on the American Girl website. She loves to collect these little dolls, and the book that comes with it is so adorable!
