As a former reading specialist, these books are a wonderful opportunity for young readers to interact with you and with the words. The rhyming and the humor of the short-1 to 2 page- stories are perfect and the students loved them. I love these books "You Read to Me, I'll Read to You:" They are the perfect beginning readers for my kids to read and give them the confidence to want to keep reading.

Only 7 left in stock (more on the way). All of the selections conclude with a twist on the "you read to me/I'll read to you" refrain. The combination of short, rhythmic stories and cheerful art is a winning one, making this title a valuable addition to picture-book collections.

Norah and I loved reading this together. The fairy tales are rearranged to avoid offending those who believe children should only read stories where everyone is nice and a good role model - but other than that, it's a great book. Personal Response I thought You Read to Me, I'll Read to You was a very enjoyable and bonding book. The reason I liked the book was because when I read it to my little sister Esthur, there were paragraphs that both of us had to say at the same time. We both joined acting out the story by saying the quotes in a certain way.

I thought it was a book for beginners but it’s not. It’s a book for kids who can read well and can read with their parents. They have 2 separate colors so you can follow and read. You can read all words that are red and your child reads all words that are blue. It’s ok .

My just turned 5 year old LOVES this new book for us to read together at bedtime. The only downfall is that he gets so excited at reading together, he isn't relaxing to fall asleep. Great product - we're going to buy all the rest in the series!

One of my students is 8 years old and in the 3rd grade. She is slightly reading-delayed. Recently I brought this book out for the reading portion of my lesson plan. In this book, the child and adult take turns reading color coded "lines" that are similar to poetry in cadence.

She loved it--the book held her attention well. We giggled at the stories together. Some of the words are beyond her reading level, but it's easy to prompt her when it is her turn to read.
She particularly loves the parts where we read together.

This book helps develop fluency and demonstrates cadence when you are reading to your student (or child). They see that oral reading doesn't have to have a "wooden" and stilted inflection. We get quite dramatic when reading some of the lines, and she just loves this book.

Such a fun read! My husband and I read together for my boys, and they are looking forward to the day they can read with us. Great addition to a personal library, fun for the Halloween season, lots of fun to read together.

These are fun to read taking turns line by line. The stories are very short sort of twists on fairy tales, more like commentary than hello,t the actual story, which has made it hard for my 4 year d to recognize exactly what is happening. A little bit older and this probably wouldn't be an issue.

Fun short stories to read with my grandkids. Perfect for second graders. The rhyme and rhythm of the short sentences make it fun for them to read without being too challenging. They think it's fun and I agree, it's fun to read together.

My first-grade granddaughter loves reading these books with me.
The rhymes are clever but meaningful even to the youngsters for whom these books were written.
My only complaint would be that there are not more of these books in the series.

(Unfortunately I lent out my original hardcopies and they never got returned so now I have to re-purchase to read with my grandchildren.) I'd say suitable for the 6-8 year old emerging reader..
