Beat of the City book. I doubt readers of today would even consid Bookclub is having a sentimental return to HF Brinsmead, known apparently to her friends as Pixie.

Beat of the City book. She wrote during the 1960 - 1970's and her books were often published by Oxford in hardcover and illustrated. As I read this title, it seemed familiar, so I think it was one I read as a teenager. I would have had trouble relating to the story set in the heart of inner city Melbourne, the edge of Kew and Collingwood, but that's why I enjoyed reading it now.
