This personal journey really brings the trips and the wildlife to life and is full of the joy they bought to Anita in chasing her dream. Importantly too it teaches us how precious these animals are and I hope will encourage many to donate and work for their protection and continued survival. I really enjoyed your book, thank you for sending it to me.

Karen Joy Fowler, author of The Jane Austen Book Club and We Are All Completely Beside Ourselves. Vivid and beautifully written, smart, and achingly sensual, this novel is at once a passionate love story and a gripping portrait of an artist wrestling with himself on the cusp of his greatest achievement. A fascinating exercise in fictional projection, The Whale imagines what has been lost to the impossible past-the veiled emotional details of the relationship between Melville and Hawthorne. The result is a lively, intriguing, and surprisingly amusing romp through the intimate gaps of literary history.

It has 135 chapters, and most of them are no longer than a few pages. I’d say only 25% of the chapters deal primarily with plot; most of the chapters could work as standalone essays – they’re pretty philosophical, and they use whaling as a metaphor for life, death, our existential peril, sex, ambition, etc. And, for fun: Did you know that Moby Dick was based on a story about a violent whale name. ait for i. ocha Dick!

The whale and the snail eventually made their way back to the black rock where they told their tale to the other . Description: A half hour animated film for all the family based on the much-loved book written by Julia Donaldson and illustrated by Axel Scheffler.

The whale and the snail eventually made their way back to the black rock where they told their tale to the other snails and this resulted in the whale setting sail into the sunset with a colony of snails on his tail! It was indeed a great tail, sorry, a great tale! Read this again (November 2019) as I can't resist the brilliant Donaldson/Scheffler combination. THE SNAIL AND THE WHALE is the much loved classic that shows us a restless young snail who has ambitions to travel the world.

From the book The Tighty-Whitey Spider . Have you ever heard the story of the weasel and the whale? Well, I’ll tell you, as it truly is an entertaining tale. So he told the whale his troubles, and explained about his dream, and described how she could help him; how the two could be a team. She was awfully glad to help him, and she instantly agreed, so he got a pair of skis (because it’s all he thought he’d need). Then he brought them to the shoreline where he walked up to the whale, and he stuck them on his feet and quickly grabbed her massive tail. When the weasel hollared, Go! she gave it everything she’d got, and she flipped her mighty tail and promptly took off like a shot.

Willa and the Whale book. Willa and the Whale is a poignant story about caring and loss and the deep connections that make us human. When her marine biologist mother dies, thirteen-year-old Willa.
