"Interpreting The Scriptures" is an academic textbook about the size and length of an academic course's workbook. When this book first arrived, I thought I had accidentally ordered the wrong product. Once I opened it and started reading it and taking notes, I was assured that I had ordered the right thing.

Conner and Malmin do a commendable job of breaking down the process of hermeneutics and exegesis and then presenting it in a way that is challenging enough for the theological academian, yet accessible enough for the everyman. If you are looking for a solid textbook to guide you in studying The Bible, this should do you just fine.

Dr. Richard Allinger reinforces the need for the continuation of the Reformation which started five centuries ago for the following six reasons cited in his book "The Reformation Cannot Be Over !":
   i. God speaks today.
   ii. Theologians make mistakes.
iii. New issues require new thinking.
iv. Scriptures must have priority over confessions.
   v. The right of private judgment.
vi. Above all, it is important that we engage in the process of  (semper reformanda) "always reforming" in the proper spirit and manner.

This review is pending as the book relates to another book: Covenants (which I am currently reading). They appear, however, along with Interpreting Symbols & Types, to be very comprehensive and are for serious studiers of God's scriptures. This book, along with The Covenants, and Interpreting the Symbols & Types, is Highly Recommended

Outstanding addition to my library and it was a required text book for the Hermeneutics Class I recently completed. The authors did an outstanding job of presenting the material.
