Also, since God has communicated to us over time through human authors, we read Scripture according to the intention of those authors as they write in their time.
No book tells the whole historical story. At a bare minimum, considering the histories as histories in conjunction with other credible and reliable texts seems to be wise. 799 views · View 4 Upvoters. I would caution you against using the Bible as a historical document because the "Bible" as most people understand it is in fact a collection on religious texts systematically chosen by the early Christian church as canonical (fancy way of saying authorized). Thus, the early Christians systematically chose which religious texts found in their community supported their authority, morals and ideas.
