Older title, but still relevant today. Appropriately ties together the words of Christ with the letters of Paul to lay out the foundations and approaches to total Christian ministry. Great read for ministers or seminary students.
grand star
Unfortunately this book has collected dust on the shelves until recently. I've begun to reflect and seek renewal of my own call to ministry (I've been a pastor for 25+ years) and this is one book I'm thankful I dusted off to study. Kruse compares the ministry of Christ to Paul's own calling as an apostle and illuminates those characteristics that he finds both have in common. Kruse gives a helpful summary of the synoptic gospels and most of Paul's letters in as much as they relate to the calling and ministry of Jesus and Paul.

I almost gave the book four stars instead of five because the closing two chapters are too brief. One chapter summarizing the content of the book and the other which summarizes how these findings are applicable to the ministry today. That said I retained the five star rating because I was drawing those conclusions throughout the book myself. Recommend this book to pastors and seminarians alike.
