I am not reading book 14 of this 40 book series. Until I read this one, the second book was my favorite but this one now leads. The book is serious with conflicts, but has comic relief as well. I won't give the story away by saying any more. Many of the books in this series can be read alone because Morris offers background material enough to understand without going in laborsome details. This is one in the seies tht I recommend reading, even if you have no intention of completing the series.

I cannot recommend any of Gilbert Morris' books as he compromises his so-called Christian values. He is supposed to be a pastor, but all of his books have swearing, violence, and he even justifies infidelity.

If that doesn't bother you, he's not even a very good author and he is often historically inaccurate. He does not even remember his own characters and often changes their ages and even their descriptions.

I enjoy all of Gilbert Morris' books but this was a favorite. Although it is part of the House of Winslow series the book can be read alone. It's a wild west story!

The story of betrayal resulting in bitterness.
Bitterness puts down deep roots.
No man is an island and Zach found that out and in time through many heart aches he found the way and the source of love through the Lord Jesus Christ.
