One of the better Marvel collections out there as far as I'm concerned & I love that it's not part of the monthly FF continuity or any the other endless monthly books. Heroes Reborn was basically a 1990's project that saw Marvel outsourcing their characters to the current top talent in the comic's medium at that time. FF got a modern makeover by Jim Lee's Wildstorm Productions & this collections contains the entire run. Jim Lee's art here is just outstanding & no surprise the real selling ingredient. Just absolutely incredible visuals & beautiful coloring. I love the revisions on many of the classic Marvel characters too & that each issue flows into one another as one giant story. This is also a great stand alone read for the casual reader. Sure things are tweaked & altered for this particular version yet it still retains all the elements that made the FF so cool in the first place. I might place this in the same model as DC's current "Earth One" graphic novels where classic characters are re-imagined to not only experiment but to broaden their mythology as well. This is a must for any Jim Lee fan. A+

Hmmm, well, as a kid I deeply admired the likes of Todd McFarlane and Jim Lee and was rather excited when the Avengers/FF were gonna get a new lease at the hands of Jim Lee. Fantastic Four was my favorite of the reboots, and even today I find the direction they were going with the story rather interesting. To my current sensibilities, I don't quite have the hero worship of the 90's big guys that I did when I was a teenager, and these days find his pacing and panel layout to be lacking at best. In retrospect, there's a reason the 90's drove me out of reading American comics to concentrate strictly on manga, and this volume is guilty of alot of those things that I gradually got sick of. However, Jim Lee doesn't seem to be hurting for fans these days, and if yer one of those ye can do worse than this graphic novel (even though he's not the one who did all of it, Ron Lim's got a fair amount in it as well), but I won't go out on a limb and say this is really good.

The story was great and the art is exceptional. I wasn't a big Fantastic Four fan but the art of Jim Lee made the book.

Readable but bad condition. Has to know how a grade a condition of a book.
This Marvel comics Book shelf reprints the first six issues the Fantastic Four in the Heros Reborn project done several years ago. I was there at the time when I bought those issues and I had some signed by Master illustrator Jim Lee! He does the most powerful illustrations! This project was to take the Marvel Superheros like Fantastic Four, Captin America, Iron Man, and the Avengers into a Pocket Universe outside the regular Marvel Universe we know. Jim Lee was given Fantastic Four and Iron Man. This Marvel project was to re-start and re-build some of the Marvel titles that loosing readership. Heros Reborn was suppose to re-boot these characters and bring them into the 1990s era. It was also suppose to be attribute to the Stan Lee and Jack Kirby era when these Marvel comics were first published. He wrote and drew Six issues of FF and did some plot work for Iron Man. Jim Lee was given a-lot of money do this project. He even took over Captain America and the Avengers when his Marvel Heros Reborn Collaborator, Rob Liefeld was fired for having low sales. He is a master in comic book art its field. I recommend This Marvel book shelf if you like Jim Lee! buy it! It's a great visual! Some of Jim Lee's best artwork ever!
