Sex and Violence is another ridiculous book in the ridiculous world of R-rated black ops brutality that is X-Force. I get the attraction - there's amazing painted interiors, negligible continuity, and Wolverine slices apart ninja-heads. I'm just too much of a pansy to enjoy it. It's Serious.

This is an X-Force interlude, a brief snip of a side story as it relates to the entire series. Like many other reviews I will say the art work is astounding. If you like dark tones and hues, which add great atmosphere to the work, then this will appeal to you. Also, like many readers, I'll say that the storyline is alright - it's okay conceptually, aside from maybe being too large and thereby having to move too fast : 7 different villains and two factions plus members of X-Force - the writing could have been better, more elaborate and a bit less disjointed but this is much related to the pace the story had to set. Often trying to be funny where there shouldn't be humor appears to be the MO of these writers. For the record: there was substantially more violence than sex in this installment.

Sex & Violence #1:
Domino, beaten to within inches of her life by the Assassins Guild seeks healing assistance, but Wolverine has a few questions to get answered first. Acting nobly, and protectively he takes Domino to meet the Guild, who subsequently attack them both. After a vicious battle in which is revealed Domino didn't know who she was initially hired for, and only found out too late after the discovery of multiple female hostages. Domino flips the table on the Guild and sells them out to The Hand, a band of ninjas.

Sex & Violence #2:
Ensues a battle w. Razorfist, the Guilds enforcer. He's sent w. a message to Belladonna, the Guild leader. This action pointedly leads the Guild to `call in favors'. Here we meet the primary, and quickly expiring, villains / Assassins: Boomerang (Atlantic City), Nakh (Chicago), Clay (Dallas - taken out by The Hand), Black Mamba (Miami), Bullet (NYC), Bushwhacker (Los Angeles - first victim, reveals the Guild's agenda... quite easily).

Sex & Violence #3:
Domino and Wolverine make a pitch to the Guild in a tete-a-tete: all the money (which Domino stole from the Guild) goes to charity and the Guild members get to live. It's a pretty bold proposition considering that X-Force is on Guild ground; outnumbered and mostly out-gunned (but hey, this is Wolverine and Domino fighting a group of nameless assassins... what'd you think would happen?). The rest of X-Force show up in the nick of time to assist Domino and Wolverine after The Hand essentially gives them up to the Guild. The close of the comic sees Wolverine in a new Mustang, compliments of Domino and the stolen money from the Guild... w. Razorfist stuck in the trunk.

Marvel Annual 2001: `The Man From Room X'.
This story revolves around Xorn, one who would have been a potential Gandhi if his circumstances had been better (e.g. better time to be born; better civilization to be born into), but instead he was imprisoned. Having just sold Xorn, Ao Jun - a mutant who's every living cell can replicate briefly - gradually reveals the true story of his punishment as the guard to Xorn. Also intricately wound into the story is the `3rd Species' - humans with a `mutant soul', the architect of the institution has been creating monstrosities in the name of science, and this the X-Men seek to stop. The story closes w. Xorn being offered a job with the X-Men.

The premise of this volume is that the mutant sniper/assassin Domino has passed off two very powerful factions that consist of assassins and ninja. Naturally Wolverine gets involved, since its an x-men book. Of course, in the process of helping her, Wolverine and Domino become very attracted to one another. I will admit that Domino is very attractive, and Wolverine apparently is like catnip to the female mutants. That doesn't mean I buy their sudden tearing each other's clothes off, but perhaps they have a thing for each other in another book of volume. I like the art here, as the muted colors work with the story. I would recommend this hesitantly, depending on how you feel about seeing fountains of blood as Wolverine tears through ninja.

Absolutely stunning artwork! Great story line! Probably one of the best reads I have had in a long time. I would love to have some of these panels as framed artwork in my house. If you love good old fashioned blood and gore, unapologetic sex and violence... Then you definitely need to read this book!!!

I've been a fan of Domino since her first New Mutants issue. She can't help but be bad-ass! Dom and Wolvie decimate foes in stylish and effectively gruesome ways throughout the book. The Hand is a cool group of ninja. Blood everywhere!! Neena and Logan even have sex on a red soaked page. Well scripted dialogue from Kyle&Yost ...but the pencils of Dell'Otto blew me away and the color had that sharp painted look to it.

Sex+Violence is a ***** storyline. It was only a 3-issue series however. As a whole I'd give the book a 4.5 because the extra comic storyline is a 2001 X-Men annual which really kind of sucked. If you're a Wolverine fan and want to see him hack into dozens of ninjas and commandos, buy it. If you think Domino is smokin' hot, buy it. Really, it's kind of hard not to buy it.

I like the contrast between xforce and X-Men. The grit really brings out all the characters. I would recommend to another X-Men fan.

Loved the comics artwork. It's gritty and dark in all the right places. Plus Wilberforce a law a us fun.

I haven't read a comic since I was a kid. Just so happen to walk into a comic store. I asked the clerk if he had anything that a 30 something would like. He went straight for this series. Got to say its one of the best I've ever read. A year later I see it here on amazon and purchased it again just to have on my iPad.
I saw this playing marvel puzzle quest so i figured that i'll give it a shot. It's a great magma. It not for kids like the ones before. It not actually for adults either. I would say that this is for pre-teens.
