Everything that was wrong with Might & Magic VII's Strategy Guide has been remedied in this on. A serious flaw of the previous strategy guide was the lack of a Skill table. Quest Walkthroughs have been separated into Main, Promotion, and Secondary (according to region) sections so you can get to the walkthrough you want with a minimum of page flipping, in contrast to that annoying jumble of quests in each region provided in the previous strategy.

This book is for beginners new to the Might And Magic Series, or old hands. it can be used to hand hold, or as a reference. Joe Grant Bell brings the Might And Magic universe alive with this book. Excellent for those moments you are hopelessly stuck.

If you need help with MM8 this book will get you through. I personally didn't use it but after completing the game i used this guide to go back and see the things I may have missed and other ways to complete this game.

The one thing that bothers me about this guide is that it doesn't have the character specific skill sets. A few tables would have easily solved this. Sure, you can check this up on online wikis quite easily these days, but it would have been more convenient to have them at hand when playing, with the book in front of you.

I have been playing the game since the first day it came out. And since that day, I have been completely frustrated with it too. This book has helped a lot. It give full maps of all the enviornments. Every air ducts, every sub-level, everything! I play this game 24/7, so you can tell I like it a lot. The most helpful thing are the maps. The alien levels are mind-bogglingly long. It took me a week to beet the first level on the alien. I got this book and beat it in 15 minutes. It tells every charecter's weaknesses and strong points. It even gives a blueprint of the weapons and people. It gives info about everybody. It is really great.
