I bought this cookbook for the Richard Simmons name, of course. I have had the opportunity to make the Mayflower Shepherds Pie (minus the beef + soy crumbles for my non-beef eating family). It came out great, and the entire family liked it a lot. The book offers a wide variety of recipes with a color photo for each one. The recipes are easy to follow anf each have it's own, individualized quirky name (followed by a story of why he chose the name). Individualized stories and.

The one thing I dislike about this cook book is that if you are on the Richard Simmons program you need to know which windows to close or Cards to move for specific dishes, This does not tell you which cards move or windows to close for each portion. Unlike his origional Cookbook that tells you everything you need to know this book seems to geared more towards the general public rather than those who are on his program.

I'd like to start off by saying that I have lost 55 pounds (a lot on my 4'11" frame) with Richard Simmons and his Food Mover program. For me, he is the most reliable and trustworthy method of losing weight.
I bought this cookbook for the Richard Simmons name, of course. I have had the opportunity to make the Mayflower Shepherds Pie (minus the beef + soy crumbles for my non-beef eating family). It came out great, and the entire family liked it a lot.
The book offers a wide variety of recipes with a color photo for each one. The recipes are easy to follow anf each have it's own, individualized quirky name (followed by a story of why he chose the name). It keeps the book interesting in the way Food Network Magazine is more interesting than many of its counterparts... Individualized stories and fun facts.
Each recipe is given an amount of portions but unfortunately doesnt give a portion amount which is kind of inconvenient (I would rather be told that 1 cup of mac n cheese is equal to one portion rather than "this recipe yields six portions). I also find some of the portions way too big for my Food Mover plan (one pound of salmon = 16oz... divided by four portions.. that's 4oz of fish in one meal... my entire protein allotment for an entire day on Food Mover!)
Regardless of its shortcomings, I do believe this book is worth having in your collection.

I had the deal a meal set years ago and really liked the meals and recipes, I was really excited when someone told me about this cook book. It has all my favorite recipes in it. My adult son has even used it quite a bit. He loves the macaroni and bacon recipe!

This is an older cookbook. I purchased it hoping to find a recipe that was originally printed in his magazine. (It's his recipe for apricot chicken, if anyone has it to share.) It is the best apricot chicken recipe I've ever used.) However, the recipe is not in this book. Otherwise, the recipes and ways to modify to reduce fat and calories are well-known now, so I don't need this book.

Nice cookbook. I am not a cook this book benefit me because everything is measured out makes it real easy for me.

Always good to find recipes both tasty and easy on weight gain. If I had known exactly what this book is before I bought it, I would buy it again. Not a lot of recipes, but good ones.
