More than 160 inspiring designs, representing a wide range of Native American cultures, have been assembled by Dr. Joyce Mori, a well-known anthropologist. These patterns can be found on pottery and rugs, and they are used in beading, jewelry, and other crafts and are perfect for quilting motifs. The book spans the time from prehistory to the present, and where possible, the patterns have been identified by tribe or region.

Joyce received a National Quilting Association grant to study the use of Native American designs by quilters. This study directly led to Joyce writing five books. She has now written over a dozen books and 70 articles on quilting subjects. this volume not only offers fabulous, wonderful, inspirational designs, it contains a section on developing variations that would be useful for any craft.

Joyce Mori is the author of the new AQS book Quilting Designs from Native American Pottery. Once her daughter reached junior high, Joyce returned to her love of quiltmaking and her interest in Native American cultures. She has been professionally involved in quilting for over 20 years. She also made some stamped hand embroidery quilts.
