Dagdatus

This book is just what the title says: Patterns! I don't like "doily" type patterns. This books has edgings, medallions, some "doily" patterns, but they are very pretty. I was looking for exceptional patterns, and I found very intriguing shapes here. The book has some tatting "hints" and a list of abbreviations at the front, and then it's all patterns. An excellent pattern reference book!

I would say I am intermediate to advanced in tatting and this book is good for all. Well maybe not the total newb. Tho this is an old book it has many good ideas, good projects, and good inspirations for jumping off points, if you are the adventurous type who likes to Frankenstein it (mix and match pieces of various motifs to make your own)!

I bought this for my Mother-in-law as a gift, since she does tatting. It's so sad that tatting appears to be an art that is dying out. My mother-in-law creates beautiful doilies for the table and was very happy to receive this. The only "bummer" is that the pictures are in black and white. Would have been nice to see some color.

I needle tat and these patterns are easy to work. Love the variety. They are easy to follow instructions.

Not impressed with the patterns in this book. Very "dated" looking and patterns are difficult to decipher. I should have returned it.
