I love to knit with fine yarn. I can't see what all the hype is about chunky yarn except that people want to get something done quickly with the least amount of effort. Hence, all the 'do it in one weekend' books. I expect there will soon be a 'knit a sweater in two hours' book.

I'm of the sort of knitter that believes in savoring the stitch, the hand of the yarn and that time is required to create something beautiful. I never knit anything with needles larger than a size 9 U.S. I prefer to knit with a size 6 U.S. or smaller.

This book has a wonderful selection of patterns in sport-weight and lace yarn. Needle sizes are generally for 6 U.S. and smaller. There is a pattern to suit all tastes and recommendations for all types of yarns: silk, alpaca, merino, etc.

I have read this book 2 or 3 times and am savoring it. There are at least 2 projects I want to make as soon as I finish my UFO's (unfinished objects). Isn't this the plight of all knitters? We just get carried away with all we want to knit and there just isn't enough time. This book is an impetus to make that time, to create at least one of the beautiful patterns included in the collection.

absolutely amazing, want to knit each and every project

I love this book for the ideas and the gauge information for fancy patterned knits. I would much prefer to work with fingering than with bulky yarns and there are very few collections in books for fingering, so this was a pleasant surprise. I usually don't follow any particular pattern wholly, but end up designing my own adaptations. This book will be no different for me, but there are some nice ideas and this is a welcome addition to my library.

I saw a skirt pattern on raverly.com and had to have this book. There are other beautiful patterns in it as well but this book is not for the new knitter. These patterns are beautiful but use small knitting needles and take time to produce. Great for the seasoned knitter and the beginner who wants a challenge. Worth the money.
I want to knit every project in this book and have cast on 2 and queued most of the others already. Truly a good value; think how much all those separate patterns would cost!
