Very pretty book, well organized and nicely designed. Nice variety of families and locales. I had to laugh at how much white was used in every house! The Alber family home was a little more realistic--they have a black lab--but all those little things to dust and get knocked over! I also wonder about the flea market finds in a house with children--flaking paint, furniture falling apart with hard use. I DO think it's a neat book, but lots of adaptation would be necessary to actually implement these looks in a rambunctious busy household.

I saw this book at an anitque mall and they wanted $12 dollars for it! it was $24 when it was new over 10 years ago! What were the mall owners thinking???? Do they not know that a new item once off the sales floor is only worth 35% of it's original value?
Needless to say, I didn't buy it. I checked Amazon and got a deal. Even with shipping the total was less than half of what the mall wanted.

I had to laugh when I saw the adorable tiny closet where clothes are hung on the level a child could reach them. What a cute idea. The Testu Family Home also has some interesting ideas for hanging pictures. The Cottage was quite cozy and the City Chic kitchen was pretty amazing. The Alber's home had a wonderful idea for placing the washer and dryer in a specially built cabinet.
