Sicile-Kira notes that her information is in no way meant to be exhaustive, which I would agree with, but it is a good place to start. It also includes some great resources specifically for teachers, parents, siblings, ec. which is very helpful. Overall, a perfect book to start learning about and understanding ASDs.

This book contains misinformation about the discredited Andrew Wakefield who has lost is medical license because his research is so unsound and because of his dishonesty. I would not recommend any book containing such misleading information to any parent of a child on the spectrum. The author has a duty to present honest information to parents looking for answers. Amazon should not be selling this book.

This book is a must-read for any parent of an autistic child. There it's a wealth of information here and is undoubtedly a resource to return to many times. Everything is covered, and additional resources are given for any aspect of life with autism that you can think of. This is an informative book that's an easy read because things don't get too technical - it's like having a good friend holding your hand and leading the way.

A ditto from the forward "take complex information and simplify it." I love the way the author breaks pertinent information into reality. I stumbled across this book on Amazon.com and I'm glad I did. I highly recommend this book to all of interest about autism.

I choose this book because I was confused as to what autism is. I did appreciate the inside the author gave on a number of issues I had not thought of. I am just the grandparent of a boy with autism and I wish to help rather than hinder his further development.

My 3 year old granddaughter is autistic and this book really helped me understand whats going on in her brain and why she reacts the way she does. This book was so helpful especially with all the different info on autism. I highly recommend it.
Wonderful resource! This is the first book I read while my son was going through the diagnosis evaluations for autism. It gave me a good foundation of what to expect and do for my son during his childhood. I highly recommend any parent of a child with ASD read this.
