This text concentrates on building an understanding of hydraulics and surface water hydrology as used in everyday civil engineering practice of stormwater management. Introduction to the basic concepts of fluid mechanics lead to the understanding of pipe, channel and stream flow. It covers the design of storm sewers, culverts and detention basins. A careful analysis follows with runoff calculations using the Rational and SCS Methods Many examples and case studies clarify the principles presented.

when I switched careers, I used this book to teach myself stormwater management and hydrology. its very practical and easy to follow. I recommend it if still in print. If your new to SWM or trying to understand the concept, this is a great start up book.
