Zulkigis
Being an EIT I have never done any design with cold formed steels in any of the various steel courses I've completed. In practice I was given the task of analysing a structure formed with cold-formed steels, doing some research online I found that this book was probably the best starting step, the first chapters focus on in depth theory and explanation in simple terms the effects of these steels and their peculiar shapes in design and construction. Coupled with the AISI code and North American Spec, I was able to replicate analysis results from comnputer analysis software by following the VERY thorough examples given in book.

One thing I would change is to have more direct examples to the use of the AISI code; for example, some concrete design books include snippets of the ACI code that highlight what to look for when looking at the code book.
Buriwield
The seller was great. However, Yu and LaBoube really missed out on the 4th edition of their book being a master piece. The content is excellent, but it's terribly written. I cannot read the book without a pencil in hand to make revisions along the way. Although I have only read up to section 2.5, the literary mechanics are not getting any better. It sends me the impression that the book was rushed to the presses with hardly any consideration given to the most critical step in the writing process: PEER REVIEW AND EDITING. I really cannot believe this book was published as-is. An experience writer/editor would make this poor book bleed with red ink.

Although this is the best book on the subject, this book is filled with errors. Make sure to follow along with the code to make sure the authors are referencing the correct code section and equation. On some pages, there is some very important commentary missing that should be referenced from the code before presenting two different equation; I had to look through the code to make sense of this. There should be an errata put out for these errors. I looked on their website but couldn't find one.

This book is very informative but it is hard to follow. I guess since it may be my first time touching topics on steel design.

For pactitioners and students, the book of professors Yu and LaBoub is the best. Must have it if you are a structural engineer.

Excelent book for Engineers and students interes in this design.
I have not gone through 1 chapter yet. But the inroduction is already illuminating about aspects of cold-formed members, which are not so clearly explained in other books I've come across. The only setback is it is not in SI units, making it hard to use in places like Singapore.
