Lynn Curlee is an American exhibiting gallery artist and a freelance writer of books for children, who works and lives in North Fork of Long Island. He has also done two posters for the Hampton Classic Horse Show, one of the most prestigious equestrian events in the country. In 1991, Curlee launched a second career when he was invited to illustrate his first book for children in the years since, his work as author-illustrator has become his primary artistic activity. The first few of his award-winning books were published by HarperCollins, Houghton-Mifflin, and Scholastic.
