Some of the book was Spanish, which was weird, but the translation provided good information.
Overall I think this was a good book.

Don't buy this pirated version. Project Gutenberg has it for free, which means Google Books and Amazon will eventually have a free version. This edition is one of those pirated PDFs that are sold at ridiculous print on demand prices. These come in assorted quality, from missing pages to bad photocopying of the original. Don't support the wrong kind of pirates (despite reading a book about pirates.)

This book is a collection of period documents relating to piracy and its effects. Would not suggest as a primary resource for knowledge of the period, but is an excellent secondary source for details that aren't available in more narrative based historical books.
