Written by Porter B. Williamson who served as an officer under the General only briefly but has lived by Patton's principles ever since. Williamson gives some very rare insight into the complex man and clears Patton's name in the famous South Carolina war games exercise in which the General has been wrongly accused of not following the rules by most of his other biographers.

This book is absolutely phenomenal. It was recommended to me by an Air Force general whom I greatly respect and admire. As a result, I did not hesitate to pick it up. Once I started reading, I couldn't stop. It has the perfect blend of comedy and inspirational recounts from Lieutenant Williamson, who worked directly with General Patton. I wish this was available in e-book format, but nonetheless, I love it. It's easy to read and you can get through it fairly quickly.

Once you're done reading the book, you might ask yourself how you can be more like Patton. I know I would give anything to be half the leader he was.

No matter what you may think of George S. Patton, his 'principles' as presented by the author, Porter Williamson (who served with General Patton and fought in World War II), are worth reading and considering. It is one of my very favorite books.

Everything, wish I read it as a freshman in college or during an Air Force NCO professional development list. Was introduced to me by Charlie Tremendous Jones. Life changing book.

Excellent book. The "Patton" movie made it look like Patton was all "blood & guts." This book shows that there were some excellent principles behind his decisions and actions.

Wonderful book! Been sharing with all of the front line leaders. We have been using this to change our culture by assigning chapters and discussing over lunch. It's a get back to basic book which is what most people end up missing when trying to lead. Just make sure you actually "apply" what you read and learn.
