An excellent Marshall University Picture album from 1837 to 2005 . The pictures were taken from the Marshall University library archives . I have mixed emotions. Yes , Marshall has erected many beautiful modern buildings .This is celebrated in the book . However , many historic Marshall buildings were torn down instead of renovation. 90 years ago , Marshall had 3 historic campus buildings . Today , 2 out of 3 have been torn down , Only , the Old Main Building stands . My opinion , these structures should have been saved under the National Historic Preservation Act of 1966

This book is a great comprehensive history of a college that had to overcome tremendous odds to get back on its' feet and survive. I was a student at Marshall during these difficult times and I found the book a great history of what happened and a tribute to the spirit of a great school. Marshall has a great legacy....We Are Marshall...

Bought for my mother who is a Marshall alum. and in her 80s. She has lots of books and memorabilia on Marshall but this one is never far from her reach. Brought back wonderful memories and she even "thinks" she found herself in one of the photos. Great history!

Packed with historical photos and covering the history of Marshall from 1837 to 2005. The book is a fun and easy read, and will bring the history and personalities of Marshall to life at a survey level. I will be starting my doctorate at Marshall this Fall, and wanted to get a better feel for the school and the history. This book helped bring it home. A fun and interesting read.
