Philip Mccutchan was born in 13 October 1920 Philip McCutchan was a British author. He was born in Cambridge, and went on to attend the Royal Military College at Sandhurst. He worked several jobs, including working for shipping firms, teaching, and owning a tea shop. In 1960 he became a full-time writer.

The old iron-clad Meridian steams south on her last journey under the British flag, on route to her new home in the Chilean Navy.
