From a mere caricature, Abrams has skillfully created a character who is richly complex and multi-layered. For whether Don Juan truly existed as a Spanish nobleman or not, he is commonly known due to plays, books, poems, and movies.

Tastefully written - no smut but lots of intrigue. The Lost Diary of Don Juan will appeal to both men and women.

Unlike most fictional works dealing with morals, the story itself is never weighed down by the heavy subject matter- even through its exploration of one of man's greatest moral challenges: the dichotomy of love and lust. Because it DOES explore the many nuances of love and lust, AND is set at the height of the Inquisition, this book is not for everyone. Tastefully written - no smut but lots of intrigue. Don Juan's story combined with the history of the time makes this book a homerun.
