The absolute best on Ahab scholarship. Those interested in Melville and Moby Dick should start here; they will be then compelled to read Moby Dick as a whole, and not just a few chapters (which may be what university or high school curricula ask of students or school children). This book will make you want to experience first-hand Melville at his best in Moby Dick, it will make you realize why the novel whose protagonist is Ahab is probably the best novel ever written in American literature and maybe even in world literature.
