Praise for THE EX-DEBUTANTE by Linda Francis Le.

Praise for THE EX-DEBUTANTE by Linda Francis Lee. Original with fresh sparks of wit, Lee offers a story about the importance of family, unconditional love and looking beyond the false surface of perfection. The Ex-Debutante battles the impossible need to both leave home and return home-and in the process she teaches us something about the grace of looking beyond image and embracing the messy imperfections of love, family and home. You can't go far wrong with Linda Francis Lee who not only can write but has total mastery over the art of describing Southern (Texas) society and the ways of that particular social set. The story is fun and well-written and truly enjoyable.

The Ex-Debutante book. Linda Francis Lee writes in the farce genre, taking situations to exaggerated extremes and doing it in such entertaining style that you cannot help but laugh out loud. At one point, near the end of the book, I had to go get tissues to wipe my eyes, laughing so much I couldn't see to read.

I love all things Southern. I'm not from there, but I'm obsessed. This book was simply...amazing. I loved it. The story line is fantastic. Prodigal daughter returns home to deal with her mother's insanity and a (sexy) blast from her past, some hilarious in-laws, and an entertaining debutante ball, and you've got a wonderful book.

The book was well-written in my humble opinion. At the very least, there were no obvious grammatical errors that took me out of the book.

I first read this book in a library, again in digital format, and finally I had to own a hard copy so I could tote it around everywhere.

I started this book yesterday afternoon and was up until 1:00 am until I finished. My 8 year old son's spelling homework didn't get done, my 4 year old son tried to drown me while he was taking a bath by kicking all the water out of the tub onto my reading figure hudddled by the vanity, the kids didn't get into bed until after 9, my husband kept trying to pick a fight with me but I kept ignoring him and reading, and the dog kept sneaking into the den and trying to get onto the recliner with me since I wasn't paying attention to him. That's how much I loved this book. I was oblivious to my life going on around me. ~sigh~ I was sorry when it ended but what a great read! It's a great book and I totally loved it! Hurray for Linda Francis Lee!

You can't go far wrong with Linda Francis Lee who not only can write but has total mastery over the art of describing Southern (Texas) society and the ways of that particular social set. The story is fun and well-written and truly enjoyable. I might have enjoyed a bit more angst on the part of the hero but that is tough to do when the story is written in the first person. In all the story develops well and is amusing and fun to read. I would definitely recommend this one.

I absolutely loved this book! I purchased the audio book from Audible and the narrator is wonderful. Ms. Lee has a great sense of humor. There are so many laugh out loud moments, but also moments that touch your heart. I have listened to it twice, and I'm sure I will listen again. Definitely a keeper.

Funny, endearing, heart-warming....lovely. This was my first book by this author but it will not be my last. From the writing style to the intelligence, never has a first person narrative been so delightful. Superb!

It is about a very serious, intellectual woman who is forced to deal with and solve the kind of family problems she ran from. On one level the problems seem humorous but going deeper, they are are more serious., and touch on the culture and attitudes of the old and new moneyed classes in America.
Fun little summer read.
