Published by Thriftbooks. com User, 17 years ago. A fun, witty book about an impersonator who gets "caught in a trap"-just like his idol. A lot of fun whether you're an Elvis fan or not (and I don't know which would find it funnier). Teen and Young Adult. Literature & Fiction. Mystery & Thriller.

Stark Raving Elvis was my first novel and, as such, is special to me in a different way. But it was fiction. Boston Magazine noted that his work displays a real feel for the sad, ridiculous squalor in America, the tacky bars and beauty shops and motel swimming pools, the even cheaper dreams of the people who hang out at them. Of course, I drew on my youthful experiences as a musician, but as for the rest, it was a creation of imagination.

Throw her heart
This is not about Elvis. It is about a guy who pursued a life, like he thought Elvis lived. I gave it away. In fact, I did not finish reading it.

I read this book years ago and I've never forgotten it. The plight of the main character is exceptionally moving, and the culmination of the story will leave you emotionally charged. Well worth the read, whether or not you are a fan of Elvis Presley. If you are, you'll find an extra poignance in the story.
