I wanted a poem book to bring life and fun in our math session.....but most of the poems in here talk about fear of math and how difficult math is.

This book is above second grade level
which is what I bought it for. The poetry
is just too complex for my students.
It would be better for 5th - 7th grades.

The poems are a lot of fun to read, and the illustrations are very engaging. My first grader's favorite poem is "Near the Window Tree." Mine are "Sky" and "Take a Number." Each poem shows how math is not just part of but essential to our world in light rhymes and rhythm. It's a great way to set the tone that math is indeed fun.

"Marvelous Math" is a wonderful way to connect mathematics to communication arts. This book of math poetry shows children how math is readily used in one's daily life. The colorful illustrations help keep the children intersted. It has given my students the enthusiasm for trying to write some poems about math also. This is great for home and also as a teaching tool.
This was a great book to read. It allows you to think about math in a totally diffrent way. The illustrations were great. A must have in any classroom.
