Born in Visalia, California, I’m a small-town girl at heart.

Born in Visalia, California, I’m a small-town girl at heart. As a little girl I spent hours on my bed, staring out the window, dreaming of far-off places, fearless knights and happy-ever-after endings. She told herself it had nothing, absolutely nothing, to do with Sheikh Zayed Fehr, the younger brother of King Sharif Fehr, and the only man who’d ever hurt or humiliated her the way he had. Jamie, Rou’s assistant, moved forward toward the desk where Rou was working on her laptop, concern creasing her brow.

I like Jane Porter's books generally, but this one left me a little flat. especially given that Rou is some kind of billionaire matchmaker but suddenly can't stand up for herself and becomes all wishy washy. However, there was good chemistry and the story was "ok" overall. However, the fact the King is still missing, royal duties and Rou's insecurities due to her past as a child take it's toll on their marriage and in the end, Rou returns back to North America and her career.

X-MEN
I just never connected with this couple.
I had very high hopes because one of my very favorite HP's was the story of his brother, Sharif, in The Sheikh's Chosen Queen.
This one was a snoozer; too full of self pity and too little love or caring between these 2. Irritating to hear the h whine constantly in her mind about her parents bad marriage, therefore her universal excuse to be so distrustful of anything. On the other side you have the H who is convinced he is cursed. Just silly.
Another big disappointment was the h's career. She had "multiple" PhD's from Cambridge, she is 30 and she never thought about birth control??? She did not come across intelligent and that was a wasted opportunity by Jane Porter.

Duty, Desire and the Desert King (Harlequin Presents)the book was disappointing on so many levels. The author had great plot to work with but ended up turning an educated and potentially great heroine into a drivling, clingy female. It was pathetic. It was irritating because the reader got suckered into thinking the heroine was going to be someone with substance AND the hero would be more mature. Instead we got a hero who needed maturity and a heroine with no emotional self control. If i could have asked for my money back I would have.

It was short & lacked depth. The plot really didn't go anywhere. The characters' beliefs systems were wishy washy. I should have saved my money.

The fights between rou and zayed was like lighting a matchstick to the attraction that lied beneath between them.
Loved this story very much
