I thought the author did an amazing job with this beautiful love story. It's a plot I've read often. The heroine, and hero are drawn together, and make love. The heroine gets pregnant, and by the end of the book they are madly in love.
This book was a bit different from the others I've read with this plot. Andreo's was so tentative, and caring when it came to Pippa. He was never really a jerk. I loved all the Italian endearments he used when speaking softly to Pippa. It was Pippa that was scared of commitment, and was afraid of having her heart broken. She attempted to end things, and flee. I thought it was so sweet how he looked for her, and found her. The two had strong chemistry that drew them together. I also loved how Pippa was not afraid to speak her mind. I really got a kick at how Pippa was speaking about her new boss, and the things she said, not knowing that it was her new boss that she was talking too...sorry for the spoiler. I enjoyed this book, and I hope you enjoy it as much as I did. I started it at night, big mistake, and ended up staying up all night reading, because I couldn't put it down.

Sample from chapter 2
The ragged edge to his deep voice sent yet another responsive shiver travelling through Pippa. She meshed with scorching dark golden eyes and her mouth ran dry and her knees turned weak as water under her. For the first time in twenty three years she understood what it was like to be really wanted by a guy. And she didn't know how she understood, how she could possible recognize the rough edge of desire stamping his lean, hard features and the passionate intensity of his stunning eyes. But although she had only just met him, she was attuned to his hunger with ever humming fiber of her physical being. What she was feeling terrified her and excited her in equal parts. "Lets get out of here" Andreo breathed deciding in the space of a moment that he could plead a prior engagement to escape the party. He extended a land to her. She could not think straight but she closed her fingers into his, unable to resist her own need to touch him.

This book was a quick read for me. Story moved fast and kept the reader entertained. Story is about Pippa and Andreo. Due to a misunderstanding, Pippa loses out on a promotion at work and she blames her new boss, who she has not met. As a rebellion to her job and co-workers, she gets dressed up and transformed from frumpy to yummy, and attends the welcome party for their new boss.

Pippa felt weird when she was garnering so much attention from the men, but especially from this very tall and attractive Italian that must be working with her new boss. Andreo couldn't help his attraction towards this beautiful woman that worked for him and didn't know who he was. He didn't care, he wanted her now and then he would explain to her who he was. Pippa decides to follow her urges, she has never been with another man before and couldn't help how she felt about Andreo. When he finds out she was a virgin, that didn't stop him, he wanted her even more and wanted to brand her as his.

The next morning, she goes to work and realizes the man she slept with was her boss. After some groveling, she forgives him and they continue their relationship. Pippa was looking forward to going to lunch with him when he cancelled and said he had business to take care of. She sees him walking out with an old girlfriend and in a fit of jealousy, hurt and betrayal, she quits her job and packs up without saying a word. Andreo kept trying to contact her with no success until he finally tracks her down in France. Things become more complicated when she finds out she is pregnant.

Emotions ran hot and then cold, emotional turmoil. Both characters were flawed and made mistakes, but at the end of the story, it was nice to see them work through their issues and misunderstandings to achieve their happily ever after.

While the story started pretty well for me, I had a real problem with the heroine. Perhaps I just don't understand how ppl with low self-esteem think.

Andreo was definitely placed in great light for his patience and persistence with a difficult woman. He must really care for her.

Since one of Pippa's good points is her intelligence; even more than Andreo's in math, I would have liked to see something at the end to know what became of her career if any.

My only problem with this book was Pippa (the heroine). I wish that she would've just grown a backbone and stopped being so wishy-washy. I liked the hero and thought that he deserved someone who had a whole lot more belief in herself and in what eventually became their relationship and I wish she'd stop running away. She's lucky he loved her and didn't let her walk away...I'm actually surprised she got as far as she did in her professional life considering she's always so down on herself.

When I'm in the mood for light and frothy, I devour these types of books. I really did enjoy this one. Both MC's were likable and I particularly liked the H's devotion to the h.

I probably deducted a star because of the H's name, he is called Andreo in the book when it should've been Andrea. The author should have been aware of it because the H even says it is one of the most common boy's names in Italy, which it is.

Totally enjoyed this book. Both characters were great. He was so arrogant yet sensitive, full of humour and exciting. She was just great. The story was light, but addressed a very real issue in the workplace.
